Singer and TV’s One’s R&B Divas star Monifah Carter will make history today during the airing of her wedding to her beloved longtime girlfriend Terez Mychelle. The couple’s wedding will become the first Black celebrity same-sex union wedding special to be aired on national television.

The wedding, which took place in Honolulu, Hawaii was officiated by Bishop Abrams. The beautiful ceremony featured 4,000 stemmed ombre orchids, a custom bridge and memorable music performances by Mahi, Rahsaan Patterson, Keke Wyatt and Syleena Johnson. Although Monifah initially had reservations about inviting all of her diva cast mates to her wedding, they were all in attendance.

Last week, Carter released exclusive photos from the wedding to Essence Magazine. Fans of the reality TV stars can view the wedding tonight, June 25 at 10pm ET on TV One. Check out a preview below.

Editor’s Note: As we’ve covered in the past, TLC’s Four Weddings and  Say Yes To the Dress have featured Black lesbian couples. Among the shows’ couples profiled were Davone and Tiffany Madison-Jackson & LaQuet Thompson and Michelle Pringle.
